Heavyweight action is set to go down in Houston on Feb. 8th when UFC 247 takes over the city!
A hometown fight is on the slate for Houston’s own Juan “The Kraken” Adams as he faces fellow UFC heavyweight fighting out of Australia Justin “Bad Man” Tafa.
Adams returns after a devastating loss to Greg Hardy this past July at UFC on ESPN 4. Not really devastating for his career, but more so personally, as Adams is not a fan of domestic violence and those that have been accused of it, so he had a little more desire to win this one but it didn’t go his way that night.
Tafa gets his 2nd shot in the octagon after a loss to another UFC newcomer Yorgan De Castro this summer at UFC 243.
Both of these gentlemen possess one punch knockout power as is pretty much standard in the heavyweight division. I feel Adams has a slight advantage if this fight goes to the ground with his wrestling and jiu-jitsu being more advanced than Tafa’s.
Both of these young talented heavyweights need a victory. I like the matchup as they are both at similar spots in their career, in other words, this isn’t one guy being fed to the other, this will be a competitive action-packed fight!
UFC 247 takes place on February 8th, 2020 Houston, Texas and will be aired exclusively on the ESPN family of networks including the pay-per-view main card of this event.
