UFC newcomer Michael Davis who took a short notice bout earlier this year at UFC Ft. Lauderdale where he made his octagon debut against crafty veteran Gilbert Burns is quickly developing a ‘Donald Cerrone’ type reputation of being willing to take a fight anytime, anywhere, anybody.
Davis is stepping up on four days notice to replace Brok Weaver who was forced to withdraw on the UFC Tampa card against lightweight Thomas Gifford this Saturday night.
Davis was slated to fight on the UFC Copenhagen card 2 weeks ago, but both he and his opponent had some issues that kept that fight from happening.
Davis who trains with Pete White Boxing and MMA and the folks at Fusion X-cel Performance will be looking to secure his 1st octagon victory when he steps in against a very talented fighter in Thomas Gifford this Saturday night at the Amalie arena in Tampa.
As far as details on what forced Weaver out of this fight, they have not been released yet.
