Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship has been working diligently to book their next event BKFC 18. The promotion has run into multiple hurdles in bringing this event to fruition. Originally scheduled for May at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Then a venue change to the hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, only to be told that they would not be able to have fans in attendance. This again, forced the promotion to scramble, something BKFC President has done more than once, and I actually think he somewhat enjoys the chaos, or challenge if you will of being told he can’t accomplish something and then proving the doubters wrong!
Well, it now seems that this event has a date, June 26th, (although I do not have venue information at this time) Miami will host BKFC18 according to the latest updated event schedule listed by the Florida Boxing Commission.
David Feldman was in Hollywood, Florida yesterday, the word on the street is he was there to finalize the date and the venue, which many are rumoring that it will be at the Hard Rock Casino and that due to Governor Rick DeSantis’s recent repeal of all mask mandates and opening the state of Florida back up fully that the casino will now allow BKFC to sell tickets and have fans in attendance, which is music to the ears of everyone that is involved with the event including the BKFC team, the fighters, and of course the fans.
With 4 title fights scheduled to take place, this is certainly one of the biggest and most important events in the history of the promotion. Champions will be challenged, new belts will be awarded in both the 175lb and 185lb divisions which means new champions will be crowned, and the fighters in these divisions are already game planning on how to get their hand on a belt once the smoke clears from BKFC 18. This event is truly a direction-changing moment for the promotion.
Thiago Alves vs Uly Diaz for the Inagural 175lb title
Luis Palomino (C) defends his 155lb belt vs Tyler Goodjohn
Hector Lombard vs Joe Riggs for the Inagural 185lb title
Joey Beltran (C) defends his Heavyweight Championship against Sam Shewmaker.
It also looks as if BKFC 19 will take place in Tampa, Florida on July 23rd, again, according to the event listing on the Florida Boxing Commission website.
