Jon “Bones” Jones To Chris Weidman: Just Stop!

September 30, 2019 by Christopher James

Former UFC middleweight champion the man that dethroned Anderson Silva, and then beat him again just to make sure the world knew that the 1st time wasn’t a fluke Chris Weidman is moving to light heavyweight October 18th in Boston against the highly touted Dominick Reyes. Truly a lofty task for Weidman as he moves up to take on one of the top contenders in the division.  Moving up a weight class doesn’t always work out as one may anticipate, just ask Luke Rockhold.

Weidman has never been one to lack confidence in himself or been shy about his belief in being able to beat anyone.  While he has Reyes on his plate right now, he is already looking forward to his next meal, one that he may not get to eat but rather be eaten.

Weidman has been telling anyone who will listen that he is going to be the man to beat the unbeaten light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones.

He believes that there is a blueprint in place to beat him, and he is going to be the one to follow that blueprint to the letter and take the belt away from the man that nobody has been able to figure out.

While I admire his confidence, he should really be focusing on the man in front of him rather than looking past him at Jones. Weidman is 1 and 4 in his last 5 and I believe is going to be 1 and 5 after Reyes defeats him October 18th in Boston.  In other words, I don’t think we will ever see Weidman fight Jones.

Weidman has been talking about beating Jones for a good minute and Jones hasn’t responded to the former middleweight champion, that is until today.

Jones took to Instagram to let Weidman know that he doesn’t want any of what he us serving up.

As I stated I don’t see this fight ever happening, but that doesn’t mean that the back and forth won’t be entertaining!
