Hannah Goldy, an Island Fights veteran who recently took her professional record to 5-0 when she defeated Invicta veteran Kali Robbins on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, but wasn’t awarded a contract after her victory last month, didn’t have to wait long for the call that those that know her always knew would come.
Earlier this afternoon I confirmed with Goldy’s manager Abraham Kawa of First Round Management that Goldy has indeed signed a contract with the premier mixed martial arts promotion on the planet, and will make her Octagon debut in 2 weeks at UFC Fight Night Newark om August 3rd against the very tough Miranda Granger.
Goldy who has been working hard to get to the octagon, was ecstatic when she received the news that she will be fighting in the UFC . A mother of one young son Odin who she co-parents with the child’s father, has been balancing motherhood and training for the last couple of years. Not an easy task for most, but Goldy has always welcomed the hard work. We are talking about an athlete who said after Odin was born that she would fight again quickly, which she did just 8 months after giving birth Goldy made her return to fighting at Island Fights 46 in February of 2018.
A talented and powerful striker with an evolving ground game, Goldy will be a threat to all the ladies in the straw-weight, and quite possibly the flyweight division as well.
