A fight between Dominick Reyes and Jan Blachowicz is in the works. No news as to if it’s a number one contender’s fight, an interim title, or for the possibly vacated Light Heavyweight Championship, which now is not vacant and sits around the waist of Jon “Bones” Jones.
The determining factor seems to be what is Jones’ next move. Will he defend against Blachowicz, who absolutely should be next? Does he make the long-awaited move to heavyweight as many want him to, and he himself has alluded to in the past, and as recently as this past Saturday night after #UFC252?
If Jones vacates, I can’t blame him. What else is there to do at light heavyweight, beat Blachowicz? No disrespect to Blachowicz, but he isn’t exactly the guy that people are clamoring to see. Reyes had a solid performance against Jones, but he lost, and while many feel he deserves an immediate rematch,(something I find ludicrous by the way) he doesn’t and he needs to fight and earn it if Jones stays at light heavyweight.
So many questions to be answered, this is about to get interesting!
