Former Pro Fight League (PFL) heavyweight Muhammed “MoMuscle” DeReese has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled bout vs Marcelo Golm at this weekend”s XMMA event in West Palm Beach, Florida due to injury. DeReese shared the information via his Facebook page.
- ” I regret to inform you guys that I am out of my fight this weekend due to a shoulder injury. I tried to train through it, and it didn’t work out the way I had hoped. Will be back soon!”
DeReese who garnered the national spotlight during his stint with PFL has been waiting to get back in the cage, and will now have to wait a bit longer. When I spoke to him he said as of now he and his team don’t think surgery is required but will know more next week after following up with his physician.
Things like this happen in the world of professional fighting and the promotion was able to keep Golm on the card and he will now face Brandon Herbert this Saturday night at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.
XMMA, a Canadian based promotion, will be making its debut in Florida this weekend and is expected to produce multiple events in Florida in 2021.
